Cars in Germany's Town Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Police reported they were contacted by a resident who discovered a automobile in Hanau covered with red-colored liquid

Roughly 50 vehicles have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Vehicles, building surfaces and mailboxes were marked, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they announced in a statement.

Law enforcement say they were alerted late on Wednesday evening, when a man noticed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued fluid.

The substance had been drawn in the form of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Police then located numerous other vandalized automobiles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations outlawing the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement state early analysis suggest the substance was likely blood from a person.

"At present there remains no clue as to its source; investigators are not yet informed of any harm in connection with the event," they stated.

City officials said they were attempting "to unravel the incident" and have asked to the community for information.

A high-ranking political figure said the vandalism rendered him without words and had to be resolved promptly.

"This act strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the extremist terrorist attack half a decade ago," he stated on online, recalling the murder of nine victims by a assailant aiming at residents of foreign heritage in 2020.
